  1. I had a car insurance policy with Company A that was expiring.
  2. Instead of renewing, I purchased a new policy from the same company, using my existing information and email address.
  3. After the purchase, I received an email asking me to log into the customer portal.
  4. When I logged in with my existing credentials, I could only see information about my expired policy. My new policy? Nowhere to be found.
  5. I had to call customer service, and the representative had to update my new policy with a different email address so I could create a new account to access my policy information.
